Easy Digital Downloads specialises in selling purely digital goods, making it leaner than WooCommerce when you don't sell physical products. Typical uses are e-books, PDF templates, software, plugins, music, photo downloads or license keys. Common issues in practice: download links are unprotected and can be shared, file limits and expiry times aren't set, VAT for digital products (MOSS/OSS for EU customers) isn't configured correctly, Stripe or PayPal payments don't work, or the legally required information on withdrawal for digital content is missing.
We fully set up EDD: digital products with variations and bundles, secure and time-limited download links with file limits, customer accounts with download history and invoices. We configure the payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal), set the correct tax rates for digital products in the EU and, on request, integrate the software licensing module for license keys and update management.
