The challenge lies in the interplay with the payment gateway, as only certain providers support automatic renewals (Stripe, PayPal, SEPA direct debit). Common issues: automatic renewals fail because the gateway isn't configured correctly, renewal orders stay on "pending", customers can't cancel, proportional calculations on upgrades are wrong, or legally required notices about cancellation options are missing.

We configure a gateway that supports automatic renewals, test the complete cycle from first payment to renewal and set up customer management so subscribers can pause and cancel. Which payment providers support automatic renewals?
For automatic renewals you need a gateway with token support, for example Stripe, PayPal or SEPA direct debit. Classic prepayment or invoice aren't suitable for automatic subscriptions. We set up the right gateway and test the full renewal cycle.
Why do my renewal orders stay on "pending"?
Usually the automatic charge fails because the gateway can't use a stored payment method or a cron job is missing. We check the WooCommerce cron configuration, the gateway and the stored tokens and ensure renewals are billed automatically.
Can customers cancel their subscription themselves?
Yes, with the right configuration customers can pause, change or cancel their subscription in their account. In Germany a clearly visible cancellation button is also mandatory. We enable self-management and provide the legally required cancellation option.
Can I offer discounts or trial periods for subscriptions?
Yes. WooCommerce Subscriptions supports free or discounted trials, sign-up fees and subscription-specific discount coupons. We configure the desired promotions and ensure trial periods renew correctly into a regular subscription.
